About the Tokyo Drift Challenge
The Tokyo Drift challenge is one of the showcase Drift Skills in the Forza Horizon 6 Festival Playlist. It’s themed around Shibuya Crossing - the famous scramble crossing in central Tokyo - and it asks you to earn 3 Awesome Drift or E-Drift skills while staying inside the marked area. The challenge is part of the Tokyo-themed set of weekly activities, and like most Drift Skills, the trick is to chain long, high-scoring drifts rather than restart from a standstill every time. If you’ve ever done Drift Skills in earlier Horizon games, the format will feel instantly familiar: you need a sustained drift at a high angle and a decent speed to register as “Awesome.”
Guide

This is a simple self-explanatory task - However finding the right spot to do it is a little tricky.
Shibuya Crossing Location in Forza Horizon 6
Zoom into the main Tokyo area to the South of the map

On the Eastern-side you will find this area. This is Shibuya Crossing.
This is the area where you are able to complete this challenge:

You will have the main central area to drift around, but in my case it was difficult to stay within the center, keeping speed without dropping to a “Burnout”.
I eventually gave up and started zooming through it, and even collected the reward leaving the green area from the image below.

So at the very least you don’t need to stay within the center, you can pass through it and continue along each of the 4 arms for a few metres before it stops counting.
Get 3x Awesome Drift or E-Drift skills (Handbrake-initiated drifts) in the area and it should be ticked off in no time!
Car Choice and Chaining Tips
Picking the right car is the single biggest difference between a 5-minute clear and a frustrating 30-minute one:
- Rear-wheel drive is a must. AWD cars understeer at drift angle, and FWD won’t hold a slide long enough for an “Awesome” rating.
- Drift-focused builds are easiest. High power, RWD, and a healthy dose of negative camber at the back all help hold a long slide.
- Lower power = more control. Mid-power drift cars are easier to keep on the edge of grip than 1000+ hp monsters. You’re sliding, not powersliding.
- Handbrake to start. The challenge counts both “Awesome Drift” and “E-Drift” (handbrake-initiated) skills, so a quick handbrake tap into a controlled slide is the fastest way to bank all three.
To chain skills quickly, treat the crossing as a figure-8 through the centre and the four arms. As soon as one skill pops, immediately transition into the next drift without coming to a stop - the chain only resets if you fully straighten up or drop below the minimum drift speed.
Troubleshooting
You have to be inside the green zone. The map above shows the wider area, but the actual trigger is much smaller. If you’re drifting on the long avenues just outside the crossing, it won’t count.
Once the third Awesome Drift or E-Drift lands inside the zone, the challenge ticks over automatically and your Festival Playlist progress updates right away.
