Playing Hogwarts Legacy, but want performance statistics so you can see how your optimization is going, or want to benchmark the game? Well, there’s no built-in FPS counter or graph, but this article shows you some simple ways to get an FPS counter, as well as more advanced graphs and statistics if you please. By the end, you should be able to know what kind of FPS you can expect from playing the game.

FPS Counter on ANY platform (Windows)
Now of course you can get an FPS counter using Nvidia GeForce experience and the Nvidia overlay or even the AMD adrenaline software, If you’re on AMD, but for a platform agnostic method the easiest software to use is MSI Afterburner
while it’s usually used for overclocking you can also use it to control your graphics cards fan to keep it nice and cool while playing and of course it isn’t just for MSI cards or Nvidia cards it works for AMD Nvidia from any distributor.
Download MSI Afterburner, from the offical website:

Your MSI Afterburner may look different as there are multiple skins to choose from.
If you do not see an FPS counter when you’ve enabled it on MSI Afterburner, Make sure you have Riva Tuner Statistics Server (RTSS) installed and opened. When you are installing MSI Afterburner, RTSS you will have the ability to choose and install RTSS.
You can also download RTSS, should you not have installed it with MSI Afterburner:

Get FPS Graph, Temp & more!
Looking in the properties section, let’s go to say GPU temperature
By selecting it and choosing Show in on-screen display
then Apply
you’ll see just like that you now have a GPU temperature counter as well in the top left of us screen. It’s very easy to use and intuitive.
Just click to the left hand side to take or untick an option and when you have it selected you can enable or disable the on-screen display option. There are tons of customization options, For Example: You can enable a graph by choosing Text Graph
, Then you can click the three dots and customize colors.
All you will really need to do is enable Framerate
On the On-Screen Display
tab there is a toggle button, show button and a hide button. You can set this option to any keybind for example Ctrl + numpad minus
to toggle it on and off. That way if you hit Ctrl + numpad minus
it hides it just like that once again it’ll show it very easy.
I personally prefer the Steam FPS counter, as it is very hidden. However, if you are playing this game on another platform such as Epic Games, MSI Afterburner will give you an FPS Counter.
