Xbox / Game Pass vs Steam
Palworld have added dedicated server support to Xbox and the Game Pass or PC Game Pass version of Palworld.
This version of Palworld is NOT the same as the Steam version, and currently, cross-platform (Steam and Xbox/Game Pass) does NOT work. Your server MUST either be Steam or Xbox.
In order to change an existing Palworld Dedicated Server’s type from Steam to Xbox, keeping world and player data:
- Open the
steamapps\common\PalServer\Pal\Saved\Config\WindowsServer\PalWorldSettings.ini
file. - Add
AllowConnectPlatform=Xbox
in-between the existingOptionSettings=(
and ending)
text.
The file should look something like:
|
|
Just note that the file will likely contain other settings like server name, password and more. If it does: Add the following just before the ending )
:
,AllowConnectPlatform=Xbox
That’s it.
Migrating back
If you want to undo settings your server to Xbox: Simply change AllowConnectPlatform=Xbox
to AllowConnectPlatform=Steam
, or remove it completely. Changing it to Steam
should help make sure the server knows what’s going on.
That’s it.
Save the file and launch your server.
