Extract LocalData.sav from a Palworld Xbox or PC Game Pass wgs folder. This file stores client-side map discovery and global Palbox progress.
The tool reads the selected folder inside your browser. Download one record as LocalData.sav, or copy it over another existing WGS record and download the complete patched wgs folder.

No wgs folder selected.
Close Palworld before replacing a LocalData.sav file.
Copy LocalData to another save
Your selected folder and source save stay unchanged. Before installing the ZIP, close Palworld and the Xbox app, wait for cloud sync, and back up the wgs folder. Xbox Cloud can overwrite files changed while it is syncing.
How to extract Palworld LocalData.sav
- Close Palworld and the Xbox app, then wait for cloud sync to finish.
- Back up this folder:
%LocalAppData%\Packages\PocketpairInc.Palworld_ad4psfrxyesvt\SystemAppData\wgs - Select the complete
wgsfolder above. - Choose the world or server-client record. The newest records appear first.
- Download
LocalData.sav. - For a standard Steam or local save, replace the file at:
%LocalAppData%\Pal\Saved\SaveGames\<SteamID64>\<world_id>\LocalData.sav
Back up the destination file before replacing it. Close Palworld while copying the file so the game does not overwrite it on exit.
How to copy LocalData between WGS saves
- Close Palworld and the Xbox app, wait for cloud sync to finish, then back up the complete
wgsfolder. - Select the
wgsfolder above and choose the save that contains the progress you want. - Select Copy Data to Another Save.
- Choose the destination record. If it is missing, open that world or join that server once, close the game, and select the
wgsfolder again. - Download the complete WGS ZIP. The source record remains in the archive; only the destination receives its
LocalData. - Extract the ZIP into
%LocalAppData%\Packages\PocketpairInc.Palworld_ad4psfrxyesvt\SystemAppData, replacing the existingwgsfolder. - Start Palworld and check the destination record. If Xbox reports a cloud conflict, choose the modified local copy.
Keep the backup until Palworld loads the destination correctly. WGS replacement depends on Xbox cloud synchronization and remains experimental.
LocalData extractor questions
Is the file named LevelData.sav?
No. Palworld names this client-side file LocalData.sav. Level.sav stores the shared world. LocalData.sav stores data specific to one player and one world connection.
Why does a dedicated-server record have no Level.sav or Players folder?
The dedicated server stores the shared Level.sav and player profiles. Each client creates its own LocalData.sav for that server world ID. A server-client record can therefore contain only LocalData.sav.
Does the dedicated server use LocalData.sav?
No. Do not copy LocalData.sav into the dedicated server save folder. It belongs in the local save folder of the player running Palworld.
Which record should I choose?
Use the world ID when you know it. Otherwise, check the modification time and whether the record is a local world or a joined server. A wgs folder can contain more than one Xbox profile, including separate records for the same world ID.
Can this tool put LocalData.sav back into a Game Pass wgs folder?
Yes, when the destination record already exists in the same Xbox profile. The tool copies the source LocalData bytes into that destination, updates its WGS size and timestamps, and downloads the complete folder as a ZIP. It does not change the selected folder on disk or create a missing world record.
Are my save files uploaded?
No. JavaScript reads the selected files inside your browser. The page does not send the wgs folder or extracted save to a server.
