How to fix missing font characters (Adobe - Inverted commas, Quotation marks etc)

Having to press another character, or just having squares in certain fonts in Adobe software (or any software for that matter) is ANNOYING! There is, however, a simple way to fix these missing characters, when they’re not supposed to be missing.
They appear elsewhere, but not in certain programs. This is how to fix it.
