Details of working with Deity Microphones
This is one of the crazy opportunities and collaborations. Deity Microphones is an American brand that produces fantastic studio gear for TV, Movie sets, and more. Professional audio is what they do right.
Turns out, marketing as well. In April 2022, Steve, the Marketing Manager at Deity Microphones, reached out to me directly with a proposal. “We love the direction you’ve taken your channel with the educational content you’ve been producing. Just checking in to see if there are any audio solutions we can provide for you.”
Incredible. Having heard of Deity Microphones and looking into them before, I knew I was being offered access to some serious gear. I had to take them up on the offer.
I already have a setup with a dbx 286s, Shure SM7B, and an Audient iD14 - But a shotgun mic is something I’ve looked into for a long time. I requested a Deity S-Mic 2 (Shotgun microphone), HD-TX (Audio recorder/transmitter), and in no time, they arrived. Unboxing and using the gear was an absolute pleasure. The quality and first impressions were incredible.
Unfortunately, I had big plans for setting up and using it for unboxings and other videos alike… But with moving, among other things, being delayed and delayed… Plans fell apart. Good audio gear stays good. There is no HD to 4K to 8K, etc. If it sounds good, it will always be good. I hope to give the Deity Microphones gear the coverage they deserve in the future. The one video currently up is nowhere near enough for such a great opportunity.
